La Maison Chassagne de Puligny - Une maison de famille

Beautiful 19th-century house, traditionally renovated in 2022 in collaboration with the Fondation du Patrimoine. Situated literally in the middle of the vineyards, with a unique view over the hillsides of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, this family home has been owned by the current owners for three generations. Recent renovations have enabled the house to welcome many families, friends and colleagues in a warm and distinguished setting.

The singular history of the house was a central point of the renovation and is fully expressed in the interior design. Through the honouring of Auguste Billerey, the self-made man who built the building in 1890 as he became one of France's leading wine producers and merchants at the end of the 19th century, and who was one of the few wine producers to emerge relatively unscathed from the phylloxera crisis. Through the many works (books, magazines, newspapers, pupils' or students' notebooks) and old objects inherited or found by chance in the attic. Through references to the world of pharmacy in memory of the current owner's grandparents, Mr and Mrs Chassagne. Madame Chassagne was one of the first female pharmacists in France. And finally, there are photographs of Cédric Klapisch and his crew during the filming of "Ce qui nous lie": the interior scenes were shot at the house over an entire year between 2015 and 2016.
